BIG NEWS for the housing market 🚨
Fannie Mae just shared a new forecast: They think mortgage rates could drop to about 6.1% by the end of 2026
Here’s why: 👇
Right now, banks charge extra on top of the 10-year Treasury (kind of like their “markup”). That extra cost is called the spread.
Fannie Mae expects that markup to shrink, which means cheaper mortgage rates. 📉
This matters because it would mean more people can afford homes so if you’ve been waiting to buy, don’t wait to put a plan together.
